Billing Clerk - Remote (U.S. Residents Only)

Are you a detail-oriented and reliable professional with a passion for working with numbers? We're looking for a skilled Billing Clerk to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for corresponding with customers about payments, issuing invoices, processing credit memos, and updating accounting records. You'll also assist the accounting department with preparing financial reports and ensuring all customer information is accurate and up to date.

The ideal candidate is someone who can multitask effectively, handle customer concerns with professionalism, and contribute to the smooth functioning of the billing and accounting process.

Key Responsibilities:
Generate and issue invoices to customers in a timely manner.
Process credit memos and resolve any discrepancies.
Prepare and send account statements to customers.
Follow up on outstanding payments and address customer inquiries.
Monitor payments and prepare monthly billing reports.
Manage account balances, ensuring accuracy and resolving inconsistencies.
Assist the accounting team with the preparation of financial reports.
Update accounting records, including issued invoices, processed payments, customer contact information, and new balances.
Position Structure & Requirements:
Remote Position - This opportunity is available to U.S. residents only.
Flexible Hours - While the first month or two may require more hours, the role will transition to a part-time schedule. However, due to the company's rapid growth, the hours are still to be determined.
Work Hours - At least 50% of your time should be within regular business hours (8 AM - 6 PM, Monday to Friday). Some evening or weekend work may be necessary.
Technical Requirements - A reliable internet connection is required, as you'll be working with tools like Practice Panther, Basecamp, Google Drive, and Lawmatics. You'll also need a webcam and headset for video calls via Ring Central.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Previous experience in a billing clerk role or similar position.
Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and relevant legal regulations.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Exceptional math skills and attention to detail.
