Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence Analyst
12 month assignment
W2 only
Hybrid work schedule, onsite work is in downtown Los Angeles
Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will provide expertise and project-based support for the following: - Threat Intelligence Analysis: Support the complete threat intelligence lifecycle including setting intelligence goals, collecting data from various sources, analyzing potential threats, prioritizing findings based on risk, and disseminating actionable intelligence to stakeholders using standard industry tools.
- Security Incident Support: Contribute to incident response processes, documentation, and assist with triage and analysis activities.
- Vulnerability Assessment: Support vulnerability scanning operations, help prioritize findings, and document remediation recommendations.
- Security Awareness Initiatives: Assist in developing and updating educational materials to strengthen organizational cybersecurity culture.
- Documentation and Reporting: Help maintain cybersecurity documentation, prepare status reports, and contribute to compliance-related activities.
Deliverables:
The consultant is expected to contribute to the following within the contract period: - Threat Intelligence Reports: Regular documentation of security observations and emerging threat patterns.
- Incident Response Documentation: Contributions to incident handling procedures and workflow improvements.
- Vulnerability Assessment Support: Assistance with tracking and prioritizing vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Security Awareness Content: Development of accessible cybersecurity guidance materials for staff.
- Process Documentation: Support for maintaining and enhancing cybersecurity operational documentation.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or related field; students within six months of graduation may apply. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Entry-level cybersecurity certifications are valued but not required:
- ISC² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst+ (CySA+)
- Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and information security concepts.
- Familiarity with basic cybersecurity tools and practices (e.g., SIEM concepts, antivirus software, vulnerability scanning).
- Understanding of fundamental network concepts, operating systems, and information security principles.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Authorization:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the contract. Work sponsorship will not be provided.
