Job Description
Estimator I Location Remote : Swisslog Healthcare Estimators (Estimating Engineers) design and estimate our proprietary pneumatic tube systems for hospital installations. The Estimator I will design and lay out an efficient system to meet the client's needs, perform material take off and total job cost estimates. This individual will also also conduct site surveys to determine scope of work and verify system design and installation layouts., and may also participate in sales presentations.

Your collaboration
- Review customer files for existing layouts, configurations, project documents, and contracts.
- Provide proper product and application to fulfill the client's material transport requirements.
- Review all project documentation including specifications, drawing packages, and other contractual documents to capture the complete scope of the project.
- Perform site surveys to determine the scope of work, verify ability to install system or develop options for difficult existing conditions; and/or schedule surveys to be completed by third-party contractors.
- Perform material take off and total job cost estimates, including material, tax, labor and travel costs, which accurately reflect bid plans, specifications and site surveys.
- Provide drawings, engineering reports and other supporting documentation to be included in sales proposals.
- Deliver executable design upon booking and participate in handoff meetings with Project Managers.
- Submit RFIs (Requests for Information) to contracting authorities on projects as required to address any discrepancies or items requiring clarification.
- Communicate risks & opportunities to impacted individuals.
- Participate in sales presentations to support Sales team as required.
- Continuously monitor our solutions, products, estimating and pricing models, and proposals to ensure alignment.
- Provide ongoing support to Project Management throughout execution of booked projects.
- Shadow mid- and senior- level team members to become proficient at site surveying, system layout, design, and the estimate/risk review process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your competence
- 0-2 years relevant experience and an applicable Associate's Degree; OR: Minimum 2 years relevant experience estimating material and labor costs.
- Understanding of construction environment and requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and provide system layouts in coordination with other trades.
- Technical knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Basic CAD drafting and Microsoft Suite proficiency.
- Attention to detail and ability to interpret required documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good presentation skills.
- Ability to appropriately prioritize current and future projects.
Desirable, but not Essential: - BS in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- Knowledge of building/hospital facility mechanical systems/equipment such as pneumatic tube, HVAC, elevator, trash/linen, or fire, etc.

- SAP/Salesforce.
- Sharepoint.
