Job Description
Pembrooke and Ives is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Librarian to join our team. This individual will become the ‘go-to’ resource for all material related knowledge in an effort to elevate the company’s selection and specification efforts.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as the gatekeeper to the materials library.
- Organizes materials library and keeps current material samples in good condition by storing materials appropriately, ensuring that materials are kept in their correct location and always keeping the materials library tidy.
- Is the ‘go-to’ resource for material knowledge/selection and offers material alternatives if required.
- Assists with product information search requests for design team members.
- Assists in assembling material boards and binders for internal and client-facing presentations as necessary.
- Curates and rotates new product exhibition on a monthly basis.
- Orders, receives, sorts and distributes new samples from vendors to design team members in a timely fashion.
- Returns samples to vendors in a timely fashion when required.
- Coordinates industry rep visits for materials updates to ensure library is always current.
- Maintains vendor database with current rep contact information and product line information.
- Organizes weekly ‘vendor fairs’ and quarterly ‘lunch & learn’ presentations for the broader team.
- Assists in the facilitation of project storage needs, working closely with all project teams.
- Administers project archiving standards throughout the project lifecycle (digital and physical clean-up and archiving), mentoring project staff on protocols for proper digital and physical lifecycle management.
- Maintains product inventory for resale of previously purchased items.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Highly presentable, intelligent, confident, and discreet with an outgoing, upbeat and confident demeanor.
- Possesses excellent time management skills and is able to handle multiple project deadlines and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive self-starter who is goal and detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) with an ability to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
- Solid knowledge of materials, finishes, fixtures, drapery, fabrics, wall coverings, lighting, carpeting, painting, hardware and their appropriate application in both high-end residential and commercial interior settings is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, online databases, and search engines
- At least 2-5 years of demonstrated work experience in a similar role.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 (depending on experience) + Performance-Based Bonus
