**Job Purpose**
Performs physical labor on construction and demolition sites, including
preparing and cleaning up sites; operating hand and power tools; and
loading/unloading materials. Constructs, repairs, restores, and installs
structural woodwork or metal and related materials. This position is a
traveling position, we work in 34 states as a General Contractor and
need our field support to travel to any/all states we do business in.
**Knowledge and Experience**
- OSHA 10 required within the first 60 days of employment.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety procedures
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or
one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
- Valid Drivers License required
- Experience and license to operate rough terrain forklift, bobcat,
and lifts highly desired.
- CPR and First Aid certified highly desired.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in rough
and finished carpentry in commercial settings.
- Basic knowledge of building codes and requirements.
Performance Expectations
- Ability and willingness to travel nationwide up to 100% , we are
committed to getting our traveling employees home twice per month.
- Attends weekly safety meetings. Performs work in compliance with all
safety rules and procedures. Recognizes and alerts Superintendent of
hazards or safety concerns.
- Constructs, repairs, restores, and installs structures such as
floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets,
shelves, kitchen equipment, and roofs.
- Operates and performs preventative maintenance on hand and power
saws, planers, lathes, joiners, shapers, drills, sanders, and a
variety of hand tools.
- Installs locks, knobs, hinges, closures, and other fixtures to
structures.
- Installs siding, drywall, insulation, tile, and other wall or floor
coverings.
- Installs and repairs molding and trim of windows, doors, baseboards,
mantels, and other ornamental pieces to ensure quality finished
work.
- Checks work to ensure it is compliant with codes and specifications.
- Cleans equipment, shop area, and work site area daily to eliminate
possible hazards.
- Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials and tools and
distributes them to the appropriate locations according to Foremans
and/or Superintendents instructions.
- Erects and disassembles scaffolding, traffic barricades, ramps, and
other temporary structures.
- Positions, joins, aligns, and seals structural components.
- Builds and positions forms for pouring concrete and dismantles forms
after use.
**Physical Demands and Work Environment**
- The employee must be able to maintain balance; exert maximum
physical force repeatedly or continuously over long periods of time;
extend, stretch, or make other movements involving the abdomen or
lower back, sit, stand, kneel, twist, reach, walk and sit for long
periods of time.
- Must be capable of working in inclement conditions to include
extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Physically capable of manually digging, dragging, pulling, pushing
various materials and objects on the jobsites.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50lbs for short distances and
distances over 50ft, and push and pull up to 200lbs.
- Must be able to see up close and at distances.
- The employee will work in both indoor and outdoor environments. This
position is occasionally exposed to dust, dirt, and loud noise; and
is occasionally exposed to odors, humidity, vibration, poor
lighting, and elevated workspaces.
- The employee must be able to travel t job sites as assigned
nationwide.
